Overwatch Actor’s Lab
About The Program
Most acting classes focus only on exercises and scene work.
While those things are helpful, they rarely help actors build the professional materials they actually need to start getting work.
Actors need three things to move forward in this industry:
• Strong on-camera performance skills
• Professional headshots
• High quality demo reel footage
Unfortunately, these things often cost actors thousands of dollars to produce on their own.
Professional actor headshots alone can cost anywhere from $300 to $800.
Professionally filmed demo reel scenes can cost $500 to $1,500 per scene.
That means many actors spend over $1,000 just to begin building their portfolio.
Overwatch Actor’s Lab was designed to solve that problem.
This program allows actors to train their craft while simultaneously building the materials they need to start submitting for real acting opportunities.
WHAT MAKES THIS PROGRAM DIFFERENT
Most acting schools teach acting.
This program focuses on developing actors professionally.
Here are the five things that make Overwatch Actor’s Lab unique.
-
Twice per month we film professionally written scenes specifically designed for actors in the program.
These scenes are shot using cinema grade cameras, professional lighting, and cinematic framing inside our 3,200 square foot production studio.
You are not just rehearsing scenes.
You are filming footage that can go directly into your demo reel.
-
Once per month a professional photographer will join the program to photograph students and help build strong theatrical and commercial headshots.
Over time this allows actors to build a versatile portfolio that reflects multiple character types.
-
One of the most valuable parts of this program is something called Behind The Curtain Day.
Each week we will look at real examples from the industry including:
• Actor submission examples from past projects
• IMDb profiles of working actors
• Casting breakdowns
• What directors and producers actually look for when reviewing actorsMost actors never get to see this side of the industry.
This gives you a clear understanding of the competition and how casting decisions are actually made.
-
Overwatch Actor’s Lab is taught by award winning filmmaker Andrew Kiaroscuro, who has spent over 20 years working in film.
Andrew has:
• Written, directed, produced, shot, and edited numerous projects
• Cast hundreds of actors
• Won Best Picture at the Sunscreen Film Festival
• Won Best Florida Feature Film at the Gasparilla Film FestivalThis means students are learning directly from someone who actively casts actors for projects.
-
Through relationships built from producing The Suncoast Podcast, we have access to many local businesses that are open to hosting film scenes.
This allows actors to film scenes in real environments such as:
• cafés
• restaurants
• retail shops
• workshops and garagesThis creates far more realistic demo reel footage than filming everything in a classroom.
What’s Included:
Scene Study
Actors will work through professionally written scenes while learning how to analyze scripts, understand character motivation, and make strong performance choices. This process helps actors develop emotional depth and authenticity in their performances.
On Camera Acting Training
Students will learn how to perform naturally for the camera, including understanding framing, eyelines, and subtle performance techniques that translate well on screen. Training focuses on helping actors feel confident and comfortable working in a professional filming environment.
Demo Reel Scenes
Twice per month, actors will film cinematic scenes designed specifically to showcase their abilities on camera. These scenes are professionally filmed using cinema-grade equipment so actors can begin building high-quality demo reel footage.
Headshot Photography
Students will gain a behind-the-scenes understanding of how casting decisions are made through real examples from past projects and submission reviews. This helps actors better understand the competition and what directors, producers, and casting teams are actually looking for.

Overwatch Actor’s Lab takes place inside Overwatch Studio at The Peregrine Ranch, a professional 3,200 square foot film and video production facility located in Inverness, Florida. Unlike a typical classroom, the studio is designed for real production and features cinema cameras, professional lighting, photography areas, and a 40 x 20 foot blue screen cyclorama wall. This allows actors to train and perform on camera in the same type of environment used for professional film, television, and commercial shoots while building high-quality footage for their demo reels. The goal is to give actors hands-on experience inside a real working studio so they become comfortable performing in front of cameras while developing professional materials for their portfolios.
